His highlights include starring in Lady Gaga's music video, "Born This Way" and being the face of Jay-Z's fashion label, Rocawear. Then recently there's his film debut and music album recording! Who said having extreme tattoos are limiting to one's career?

#2 Color, Design and Style

Sometimes a full body tattoo covers the entire body but not always. There's usually a design theme or style that dominates the look. In the West today, elaborate tattooing is not solely associated with circus performers but is a fashion or lifestyle statement.

#3 Vampire Woman: Maria Jose Cristerna

#4 Brilliant Design

What stands out here is that rainbow of pink and purple color.. Wow! These colors are bright and vivid, so this ink must be new. Do you see the writing in the center of his chest? "Love Life".. yeah we love!

#5 Is It A Yakuza?

At first glance this design looks to be a Yakuza tattoo, but if you notice how it extends up the neck as well as down one foot, it goes beyond where it would be covered by conventional clothing. Yakuza tattoos are designed not to be seen in public. Never-the-less this gal's tats are stunning!

#6 Checkerboard Face: Matt Gone

Matt himself is the artist here, tattooing 98% of his body including his tongue. He claims his tats cover a rare birth defect, called Poland’s muscle syndrome. Since this photo was taken Matt's surprisingly inked the white parts of his eyes!

#7 Stalking Cat: Dennis Avner (1958-2012)

The computer programmer and US Naval veteran, Dennis Avner explained his desire to be a feline was inspired by his "animal totem," and Native Indian heritage. He blurred the gender line as much as the species line, his transformation and idenity was that of a female tiger.

#8 Heavy Metal Musician: Aaron Matts

This Englishman living in Paris is the lead singer of band, Betraying The Martyrs, and he's sporting the COOLEST wolf image on his hand amongst other fauna and flora. The band just put out an album and is touring internationally.. they might just revive the extreme heavy metal rock scene!

#9 Model & Tattoo Artist: Rachel Anne Aust

#11 Isobel Varley

Born in 1937 England, Varley became and remains the most Tattooed Senior Woman with Guinness World Book of Records, in 2000. She's at least tattooed 76% of her body alongside a few piercings. What's wonderful is that Varley always wears a joyful smile!

#12 Couple's Contagion

If your partner was covered in tats, it makes sense that you might join in, maybe even get inked together. Conversations would revolve around designs and you could do research and collaborate on ideas. Sounds pretty awesome!

#13 The Lizardman: Eric Sprague

The Lizardman, is a freak show performer and musician. He sports sharpened teeth, full-body tattoos of green scales, bifurcated tongue, subdermal implants. Rumor is that his pursuit of a tail implant was impossible, he'll just need to wait to see what technology brings.

#14 Intriguingly Asymmetric

At times, a full body tattoo is a design just on the chest and hands or a leg and arms. Actually it's refreshing to see the contrast of bare skin next to large swaths of ink. It allows you to catch your breath in-between the colored images and patterns, not to mention she's pretty glam!

#15 Dylan Richter: Musician Singer

The recently departed vocalist of rock band, Fallen Dreams is from Detroit, Michigan. In an video interview he mentions he has most of his body tattooed, but he'll never ink his face. We hope he'll stay true to his word, it would be a shame to cover it up!

#16 The Over-Flowing Cornucopia

The vibrant color of ink pops here and your eyes don't know where to look first! It could take a couple of hours just to examine it all. Check-out the hand holding the vegetables on her shin and the amazing turquoise and blue sleeve on her forearm up to her wrist! Sweet!

#17 The Enigma: Paul Lawrence

Paul Lawrence is a sideshow performer, actor, and musician. He wife, Katzen also wears a full body tattoo of tiger stripes, together they make a striking couple! He's covered in blue jigsaw-puzzle pieces, but also he's a hybrid of horn implants, ear reshaping and multiple body piercings.

#18 Japanese Yakuza Tattoo

Yakuza are organized crime members stemming from Japan. Their signifying tattoos were illegal so they're designed to hide under clothing. While tattooing was prevalent with the men, it's now more common to see the wives, mistresses, and daughters of the affiliated just as tattooed.

#19 His Stage Name: Soulja Boy II

The successful teen rapper has covered his entire body from his "head to toe" with tat style. The designs are mostly made with black ink, and there's a lot of storytelling symbols amongst the italics. Since this image was taken, Soulja Boy announced on Twitter that he's removed his face tats. Yeah Soulja Boy, show off that pretty face!

Tattoo Do's and Don'ts

#1 Don't

If you're like most people the only time you may see the inner layer of your lip is during teeth brushing. Who is this tattoo for? Her dentist? Also, why Hello Kitty? Did she once save you from the wrath of gingivitis or what?

#2 Do

The beautiful, vibrant colors have us sold but the details are unbelievable. This would be so fitting for a painter, tattoo artist or anyone who works with paints and inks. It would look good on a man or a woman and it probably looks stunning on the different skin tones.

#3 Don't

Face tattoos generally take nice features to pull off and this guy probably could have gotten away with that star because of his. Too bad he couldn't just grow a mustache instead of that awful ink though. Shoot, a fake mustache would look better. At this point, even a lock of hair super-glued to his face would have looked classier! We bet his family isn't thrilled about the way he decided to carry on this tradition...

#4 Do

First she gets props for spending that much time, money and pain on this tattoo. Second, it could carry great symbolism and irony regarding the painful things we do for beauty.Lastly, it is really pretty. The wearer of this ink should be very proud and so should her tattoo artist.

#5 Don't

Sorry, we probably should have warned you that was coming. Imagine what poor Lea and Lara must think of this grotesque tattoo. As a general rule, getting tattoos of your loved ones names is a do. Getting tattoos of their faces is a big, creepy, awkward DON'T!

#6 Do

The text of the tattoo says "vulnerant omnes ultima necat" which means "all wound, the last kills" in reference to the hours. It was the inscription placed on solar clocks. The tattoo clearly serves as a reminder of the inevitability of death and we bet it helps this guy remember to live every day to the fullest. While we think this one would probably make a better shirt, it's just too cool to be a "don't."

#7 Don't

Girl, please tell us this was a drunken mistake. Why is it so big? Why is it on your leg? What does it look like when you're wearing a skirt or shorts that are above the knee? Do people ask if those are Pokeballs? So many questions!

#8 Do

This is seriously one of the trippiest things that's ever happened. It looks like the leg is completely hollow, like the leg of a cyborg or something. If you can track down a tattoo artist that can make something like this happen, DO IT!

#9 Don't

In theory this is cool. Who doesn't love Futurama? And surely no tattoo from that show would be complete without Fry but where are Bender and Leela? Unless you're only a fan of the episode "Future Stock" from the third season, it's kind of dumb to get an episode-themed tattoo like this.

#10 Do

Who can't use a little inspiration here and there? A tattoo that is done in your own handwriting gets major points but even more if it's done tastefully. What could be more personal than this little reminder? Definitely a do!

#11 Don't

We're all for tattoos of our favorite literary and film characters but this is a little much. It's way too big and with the placement and color, it looks more like a serious skin wound than a tattoo. It also sort of looks like the Cheshire Cat has got layers of razor sharp teeth like a shark and who wants to think of him like that?

#12 Do

A Peter Pan tattoo that involves one of the most memorable scenes from the story? You'd best believe this is a 'do'! Extra points for the perfect silhouettes and placement. It's like they're flying right into her imagination!

#13 Don't

Ladies, the shoulder branches are overdone and feel really uninspired. Seriously, where is this supposed to be growing out of? Your spine? Unless you're the daughter of Tim Burton, this is not a look that will work for you.

#14 Do

This is a really cute idea for a seamstress or someone who loves to sew crafts together. For anyone else, it would naturally be a "don't" but she get more points because of the originality! Whoever she is, she is rocking this tattoo.

#15 Don't

DON'T DO IT! This is literally the creepiest tattoo we've ever seen. People on the street probably yell "my eyes! in horror every time they have to walk behind this and we hope she doesn't think of that as a compliment. Though we can't help but wonder, is this a tattoo modeled after her eye or someone else's? Does it make it creepier if she actually has brown eyes?

Gang Tattoos Around The World

#1 Women In Barrio 18: Gang M-18

Women in the M-18 street gangs of Central America: Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador serve a dual role. They take on "male" traits in perpetrating and withstanding violence, while performing in the stereotypical "female" roles of cooking, caring for the men, children and the sick. In some ways, one might say they're tougher than the men, and getting a tat on the face that shows a gang affiliation, proves just that!

#2 La Mara Salvatrucha: AKA MS-13

If you see someone with a tat that reads: MS13, MS or just 13, you're likely facing a member of the La Mara Salvatrucha gang. Some of the members originated in Los Angeles as El Salvadoran immigrants who had associations to guerrilla fighters in the El Salvadoran civil war. Now their chapter is 60,000+ strong and spans the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Central America. The U.S. Treasury has even listed them as a Transnational Criminal Organization, which translates into being a mafia!

#3 The Notorious Dot Symbols

One of the most common U.S. prison tattoos include the 3 dots on the upper cheek. The triangle of dots stand for Mi vida loca or “My crazy life”, and associates with the MS-13 gang, but also is representative of the Los Vatos Locos, "The Crazy Dudes or Guys" gang originating from 1940s Los Angeles. Sometimes individual dots reveal how many people one has killed or has lost in life. In Europe, the three dot symbol means, "death to police", and can be found on the hand between the thumb and index finger. For British gangsters, a dot is located between the knuckle and first joint of 4 fingers.

#4 Māori Gangs Of New Zealand

The largest gangs on the South Pacific island are the Mongrel Mob, Black Power and the Nomads. Significant Māori membership tattoos are traditionally "tribal" but also contain words and symbols unique to their gang affiliation. Gangs are similar in structure to the U.S. Hell’s Angels: a president, vice-president, etc. Also women are excluded, and these guys do appear like a motorcycle motley crew!

#5 Cobwebs Signifiers

Black cobweb tattoos have to do with prison life and the gang members who are "trapped" there. Cobwebs inked on the elbow or the neck represent someone who's spent a lot of hard time behind bars. It's kind of like the person hasn't moved in so long, that a spider has built a web on them.. creepy, but a big web could gain a gang member respect once they're out of prison.

#6 South African Gang Members

Bless and Kojak: The twins are in longterm prison sentences and their facial tattoos are an abandonment of hope to live life outside of incarceration. A spider web on the neck shows that "he" will wait patiently for prey, and the four stars on the shoulder indicates a high ranking gang member. Both men have fangs tattooed under their lips "to signify that they will bite", and if you look closer, there are devil horns on their foreheads!

#7 British Isle Mafia & Gangs

In Ireland there are parts of Limerick City where the alliance of violent criminal families known as the Dundon-McCarthy faction rein, and "soldiers" of these gangs show tattoo tributes in respect to fallen comrades. Meanwhile down south in the United Kingdom, British mafia members are often found inked with the initials: ACAB, which stand for "All Coppers Are Bastards". The acronym is sometimes integrated with other prison tattoos or found plainly on the knuckles of each finger.

#8 Yakuza Mafia In Japan

Did you know the Yakuza tattoos were first placed on criminals as a punishment? Now the tattoo aesthetic is a popular trend amongst tattoo enthusiast around the world. The body tattoos or "body suits" worn by Yakuza mafia members are illegal when seen in public in many areas of Japan, but at the Sanja Matsuri Festival, the designs are a celebrated spectacle. The extensive size of the tattoos not only show the wearers’ affiliation, but also their ability to endure pain.

#9 Under-eye Teardrop

The teardrop tat underneath the eye carries a myriad of meanings amongst gang members and criminals. An accepted meaning originating with California Chicano gangs, is that the wearer has killed someone. Amongst prisoners, it could represent a long incarceration, or even a loss of a family member. If the teardrop is clear, it can be the wearer has either attempted or committed a murder in a revengeful act for the killing of a close friend or family member.

#10 The Tongan Crips

Also known also as TCG, they’re the first and only Tongans ”Polynesian” gang to resides in Inglewood, California. Also now residing in Salt Lake City, Utah, they have a "notorious reputation of committing violent and ruthless crimes." TCG first joined with the predominately Black gang, the Raymond Avenue Crips, but eventually broke away to form their own identity. They've alliances with the Sons Of Samoa, a Polynesian Samoan Crips gang, located in Long Beach, California.

#11 Russian Mobsters

Perhaps this photo by Sergei Vasiliev is "posed", as the cello almost seems out of place in the arm of this fellow sporting hardcore Russian mafia prison tats! Each tattoo symbol has a long-storied gang history. For instance, stars on the knees means, "the bearer will bow down to no man." Remember the film, 'Eastern Promises'? Director, David Cronenberg went all out to vicariously bring the you into this Russian crime subculture.

#12 White Supremacist Skinhead

This guy is loaded with white nationalist supremacist philosophy. Here's a few representations of these symbols: Swastikas are a WWII Nazis emblem, adopted by most white supremacists today. The #14 is a rally slogan, "We must secure the existence of our people and a future for white children". The word, "Hatebreed" is the name of a heavy metal band, whose albums are, 'Supremacy and 'The Rise of Brutality'. Yikes!!

#13 Dead Man Incorporated Prison Gang

Also known as the DMI, they're the 3rd largest Maryland-based gang founded within Maryland's Correctional System. Most members are White, yet instead of adopting White supremacist ideology, they practice anti-religious and anti-world government beliefs. The tattoo symbol of the pyramid with the "eye" represents their support of the Illuminati, or The New World Order, a secret society or cult that is "supposedly" trying to rule the world. Wow.. Crazy!

#14 Clock Or Watch Without Minute Hands

Prison gang life uses tattoo signifiers as a method of communication to others, specifically to other gang inmates. They carry deep personal significance, but often show an individual's allegiance to a gang in a way that is permanent. But what could this tattoo mean? Did you notice there are no minute hands on this watch? It's subtle, but the U.S. prison tat is a representation of an inmate "doing time" and serving a lengthy, or lifelong, prison sentence.

#15 Five-Point Crown: Latin Kings Gang

Crown tats are a favorite by many ordinary folk, but the "five royal point" crown is for the Latin Kings gang, originally started in Chicago. Today they're one of the largest hispanic gangs in and outside of U.S. prisons. The "five points" represent their affiliate to the People Nation gang, while other details of the crown, such as the colors of the jewels in the points carry other levels of hidden meanings.

Ridiculous Bacon Tattoos

#1 Bacon Double Cheeseburger

The only thing better than a bacon cheeseburger is a bacon double cheeseburger. Complete with two slices of cheddar cheese and a hefty serving of bacon on top, this is one burger we would want to eat.

#2 BLT

This tattoo depicts a venn diagram of a delicious BLT. Three circles of bacon, lettuce, and tomato. In the middle, they're all joined by love.

#3 Bacon Cupid Strikes

Cupid's shot his arrow through this guy. His love for bacon is immortalized on his arm. This tattoo is simple but effective. He may or may not be morbidly obese.

#4 Bacon Math

Bacon math is the best kind of math. This tattoo lays out the process, just so there's no confusion.

#5 Bacon Cartoon

Bacon comes to life in a cartoon. He comes complete with arms and a smile on his face. Bacon also sort of looks like Gumby's disfigured cousin.

#6 Black Bacon Burger

Yum! This bacon cheeseburger has all the fixings. Lettuce, tomato, cheese- the gang's all here. Though we are a little bit concerned about the state of the bun.

#7 Bacon Seahorse

Whatever tattoo artist worked on this is a real genius. Bacon strips are twisted in the shape of a seahorse. We are guessing there was a lot of research done on this one. Yummy research.

#8 Heart Bacon

Strips of cooked bacon form a classy bacon heart. That's definitely one way to get the message across. Also, look up the word "classy".

#9 Raising Bacon Awareness

We suppose it is an understated cause. This guy does his part to spread the word about bacon awareness. #baconstrong

#10 Breakfast is Served

Have a craving for bacon and eggs? If you're this guy, all you have to do is look down at your arm. Friendly looking eggs and bacon in a skillet will smile up at you. Other may puke on sight.
